چکیده

The Any Light Particle Search II (ALPS II) is an experiment currently being built at DESY in Hamburg, Germany, that will use a light-shining-through-a-wall (LSW) approach to search for axion-like particles. ALPS represents significant step forward these types of experiments as it 24 superconducting dipole magnets, along with dual, high-finesse, 122 m long optical cavities. This paper gives the first comprehensive recipe realization idea, proposed over 30 years ago, cavities before and after wall increase power regenerated photon signal. designed achieve sensitivity coupling between particles photons down g???=2×10?11GeV?1 masses below 0.1 meV, more than three orders magnitude beyond previous laboratory experiments. layout main components define are discussed plans reaching design sensitivity. An accompanying (Hallal et al., (2021)) offers in-depth description heterodyne detection scheme, two independent systems be implemented II.

Characterization of optical systems for the ALPS II experiment.

ALPS II is a light shining through a wall style experiment that will use the principle of resonant enhancement to boost the conversion and reconversion probabilities of photons to relativistic WISPs. This will require the use of long baseline low-loss optical cavities. Very high power build up factors in the cavities must be achieved in order to reach the design sensitivity of ALPS II. This nec...

The Design of ALPS: An Adaptive Learning and Planning System

In order to perform adequately in real-world situations, a planning system must overcome intractable domains, limited planning time, incorrect and uncertain world knowledge, dynamic environments, and real-time response. ALPS, an adaptive learning and planning system, combines traditional components of hybrid planners with innovative techniques from machine learning, distributed computing, a~d p...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
